Ringing the BELL: SLIDEZ N FRIES – Flavor with Purpose

At the heart of every great business is a story, and for Al-Nur Burnett, owner of SLIDEZ N FRIES, that story began with family, faith, and a grill. What started as a simple moment at a family reunion—sharing his homemade Turkey Slidez—quickly grew into the spark for a thriving business with big aspirations.

Al-Nur describes the mission of SLIDEZ N FRIES as more than just serving great food. His vision is to grow into a franchise that also serves as a pillar in the community—creating opportunities, supporting those in need, and inspiring change through service and entrepreneurship. “I enjoy taking an idea and shaping it into something real,” he says. “Bringing my vision to life while also creating impact in the community is what drives me every day.”

The journey hasn’t been without challenges, but Al-Nur’s faith and self-motivation gave him the courage to take the leap into entrepreneurship. He began by selling pans of his signature Turkey Slidez to family, before moving into a commissary kitchen to serve the public. Each step reinforced the potential of the brand and his belief in what it could become.

Now, SLIDEZ N FRIES is celebrating a major milestone: its Grand Opening inside Knowledge Perk at 901 Crossroads Plaza in Fort Mill, SC. With this expansion, Al-Nur is one step closer to realizing his dream of building a franchise that blends bold flavors with a bold commitment to community impact.

When asked what advice he would give to aspiring Black entrepreneurs, Al-Nur doesn’t hesitate: “Keep going, no matter what. Mistakes and setbacks are part of the journey, but they don’t define you—your resilience does. People may see you slip up, but never let them see you quit.”

SLIDEZ N FRIES is more than a restaurant; it’s proof that passion, resilience, and vision can create something bigger than yourself—something that feeds both the body and the community.
