A New Chapter for B.E.L.L.: Expanding Our Capacity to Deepen Our Impact

The Black Economic Leadership League of Rock Hill (B.E.L.L.) is entering an exciting new chapter in our journey to advance Black economic mobility across Rock Hill. After years of community-driven work, volunteer leadership, and strategic growth, we are proud to announce that we are hiring our first paid staff member — a Part-Time Director of Strategic Development & Operations.

This milestone represents more than just a new position. It reflects our continued commitment to building sustainable systems that strengthen our impact across our three core pillars: Business Development & Innovation, Workforce Development & Education, and Leadership Development & Training.

Investing in Sustainable Growth

Over the past two years, B.E.L.L. has been on a strategic journey to strengthen our internal operations while expanding our community impact. Thanks to the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, which has invested $30,000 in our work across 2025 and 2026, we’ve been able to enhance our programming, strengthen our infrastructure, and position ourselves for long-term growth.

This support has allowed us to:

  • Expand business development programming for Black entrepreneurs

  • Connect students to workforce and education pathways

  • Increase leadership representation and civic engagement opportunities

  • Strengthen our financial and operational systems

Now, with a dedicated staff member focused on strategic development and operations, we are moving from momentum to measurable, scalable impact.

Now Hiring: Director of Strategic Development & Operations

We are currently accepting resumes and cover letters through January 30, with the goal of welcoming our new team member by March 1. The Director of Strategic Development & Operations will serve as a strategic leader responsible for strengthening B.E.L.L.’s organizational infrastructure, enhancing financial sustainability, and supporting the Executive Committee in maximizing impact. This role is ideal for a mission-driven professional who can efficiently implement systems, processes, and strategies that position B.E.L.L. for long-term growth and effectiveness.

A New Membership Model: More Ways to Lead, Serve, and Stay Connected

As B.E.L.L. grows, so does the way we engage our community. We are introducing a new, capacity-centered membership model that recognizes everyone contributes differently — and that every contribution matters.

Members can now choose how they want to engage, including:

  • Managing a project as a Project Lead (such as the Workforce Development Expo or Kauffman FastTrac Program)

  • Serving on a Project Team

  • Staying Informed and Connected to B.E.L.L. initiatives and community updates

Whether you give your time, talent, treasure, or information-sharing, your role strengthens our collective impact. We are asking all current and prospective members to complete our Member Engagement Form by February 15 so we can align interests, capacity, and opportunities for involvement.

Complete the Membership Engagement Form here.
