SC CARES - Minority & Small Business Relief Grant Assistance Updates!

Attn SC CARES Grant Seekers:

All $40M Has Been Awarded!!


The SC Department of Administration has notified all 2,970 applicants who will be receiving funds from the the SC CARES Minority & Small Business Relief Grant Program and the Nonprofit Relief Grant Program.


According to Megan Moore, the Department of Administration Public Information Director, the notification process finished Wednesday and included all applicants the legislatively required panels recommended to receive a grant award. Actual payments will occur through January 2021.


For those not receiving grant funds, notification will be sent through January 2021.

Attention all SC CARES Grant Seekers!!


The SC CARES Minority & Small Business Relief Grant Program and the Nonprofit Relief Grant Program has released updates and are soon to notify all applicants who have applied!


According to accelerateSC, those applicants who have been recommended to receive a grant award will be notified within the next week, no later than Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.


Payments will occur in late December 2020 through January 2021. For those applicants, the actual payment date will depend on the following:

  • the applicant provided all supporting documentation;

  • the applicant provided payment information for receiving grant funds;

  • when the applicant is notified


For those not receiving grant funds, a notification will be sent between late December 2020 into January 2021.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 BELL took to Facebook and hosted LIVE on how to complete the application for the SC CARES - Minority and Small Business Relief Grant Program. As a recap, Gov. Henry McMaster along with agency officials and business owners, announced that there will be $40M dollars of grant money awarded to those who qualify.


To qualify for a grant an organization must:

  • be designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the IRS and registered as a public charity in S.C.

  • be physically located in South Carolina

  • been in operation from Oct. 13, 2019 to present and

  • have experienced a business impact due to COVID-19.
